Christmas in September

Do you hear what I hear?

Caroling, caroling — wrong time of year.

“She’s playing Christmas music in there,” my daughter said, pointing to her sister’s closed bedroom door.

This morning.

September 1st.

It’s the only kind of music my youngest child truly enjoys.

The Daily Prompt is “shiver” — and I looked for pictures that made me shiver, but this one just made me smile. In 1967 or 68 my mother had painted a giant picture of our family on plywood. Every Christmas we sang carols (in effigy) to passers-by.

Only 115 more days until Christmas!
