I was perplexed — “How can he see?”

“It’s called ‘wool-blind’,” she explained to me.

The alpaca’s owner went on to explain that this particular alpaca needed to be clipped fairly regularly around his eyes otherwise he really couldn’t see.

Who knew.

  1. Haha, nice. I used to be on a track team out in place off the beaten path and we would run to visit this llama all the time. It may have been an alpaca, but we called it a llama. I don’t think it was that entertaining, but I guess it was just something to pass the time.
