Sacred

Standard

A sacred moment knocked upon my door.
I hesitated… Did I want to see
Or should I tidy up a bit before
And let him wait outside quite patiently?
Untimid knock, persistent troubadour —
“Open up!” he cried, “Come out and be
Awakened to this moment! Come explore!”
But I had so much to do — I’m not carefree —
My husband, father, children, friends and more
Need attention that must come from me —
The knocking – knocking – knocking evermore
Was muted by busy reality

Dear friend, when sacred moments come to you
Throw open wide the door and be renewed
